I haven’t posted any original songs in months, but I was rewatching a few episodes of Legend Of Korra recently, and I was a bit inspired by Korra’s self-struggle of not feeling “worthy” enough. It got me to thinking about how many people I know who go through the same thing – we all know the feeling. Every one of us is an unsure wanderer in our own way, and this is just a reminder that’s completely okay. :)

Another ATLA-inspired original? Your wish is my command. I wasn’t expecting to get another song done so soon, but the melody and lyrics for this one just flowed out one night, so now I’m super excited to share it with you! ♥

Shifting gears from Yue’s docile and delicate character, this is a piece inspired by everyone’s favorite Fire Nation Princess… Azula, to me, is arguably one of the most fascinating characters ever, and this song is kind of a tribute to that. 

It was inspired by her struggle for control and the decline of her character to the point of her breakdown. At the end of the day, she’s really just a kid who grew up genuinely believing that instilling fear was the only reliable way to connect to her friends and family… What’s more tragic than that?

In any case, as with my previous piece, I think this one can stand on its own despite the clear connection to Azula’s character, so whether you’re listening because you’re a fan of ATLA or not, I really hope you enjoy it — let me know what you think!

I’m super excited to finally be able to make this post — today I’d like to share with you guys my first completely original song! I’ve never been great at coming up with original stuff from scratch, but I was playing around and somehow this came about.

It’s heavily based on Princess Yue from Avatar: The Last Airbender, but hopefully it’s a song that everyone will be able to enjoy even if they’re not a fan of the series. This is the first time I’ve tried something like this, so let me know what you think! I’m always open to feedback. :)

Legend of Korra Main Theme (Music Box Version) // arr. tinysaurus

_{Ahh okay, so I was kind of song doodling on my keyboard and somehow it turned into THIS… I have always had the biggest affinity for music box versions of songs I like, so I guess I shouldn’t be surprised that I ended up coming up with one for the Legend of Korra Main Theme. ♥}

_{Despite the fact that there’s no vocals or lyrics added to it, it was really fun to make — I am in love with the original version so nothing could ever replace that, but I really enjoyed stripping it down and arranging it into something more delicate. (Not to mention relaxing… If you’re having trouble with your airbending, maybe you should chill out and meditate with this, ahaha.)}

Eeee, okay, I’m pretty sure vocals/lyrics have been added to “Lost My Heart In Republic City” before, but I really wanted to try my own take on it because it’s one of my favorite songs that played throughout the first season of Korra. The Track Team really outdid themselves with this one!!

I tried to accomplish a few things with it: 1) give the vocals some warmth and a jazzy texture to match the instrumental melody line/mood, and 2) keep the lyrics neutral – fit ALL the ships if you’d so like, haha! So I hope I succeeded there. But seriously, I really loved working on this, so I hope you guys enjoy it! :)

This one goes out to you, little Tarrlok… That boat scene killed me, I couldn’t even enjoy the Makorra after it cause it was so sad! I don’t even know why I did this, I almost cried recording it. I’m such a masochist. That finale was incredible and I absolutely loved it.

I really need to stop making these but I can’t and it’s getting a little bit ridiculous… This one’s for everyone who realized how awesome Asami Sato is after episode seven — as much as I love my Makorra, I also have grown to really love her as a character recently!
