I felt the voice fit the show so well, if I were to picture Korra singing, I’d say that it would sound like this. This video is just for fun, I was messing around in Sony Vegas Pro 11 a lot this week and edited some legend of korra stuff, (as you can tell from my posts) I’m also a huge fan of Adriana’s covers and her other works, she’s very talented. That crappy cut-off in the video doesn’t do it justice, go listen to the whole song!

I must admit it feels super weird watching my voice come out of Korra’s mouth instead of Janet Varney’s, ahaha, but everything’s synced so well! Thank you for the awesome tribute! Like I said, I’m sure it just comes down to a preference thing with something like that — I know it’s kind of a distinct vocal quality to have and not everyone’s going to like it, but I realize that and that’s okay! I know it won’t always be people’s cup of tea, haha… So that said, I really appreciate the kind words! I’m so glad that YOU like it!! :)
And to the top anon, I really love Kelly Clarkson’s voice, but I don’t believe I’ve ever heard that song of hers! I will totally check it out and listen to it though, thank you for the suggestion!! ♥
To the first anon/top two messages, I appreciate the input, but as I’ve already answered in the past to others asking about my vibrato, it’s not like I start singing and decide “ooh, I’m going to use tons of vibrato in my voice for this song” — it literally comes out as naturally as it gets, and in fact, singing in a really straight tone is what feels forced to me — it’s just the texture of my voice! Some people seem to love it while others dislike it, but I honestly have no intention of trying to force it out cause that’s what makes it my own. Like I said, I really do appreciate the helpful intention, but if I tried to please everyone with my voice, I would literally get nowhere, haha! No one is keeping you from listening to singers without a heavy vibrato if that’s what you personally enjoy or forcing you to listen to mine — it’s all a matter of preference, you know?
